The Lumia 520 has Bluetooth which enables it to communicate with other Bluetooth devices (such as a Bluetooth handsfree kit). It has Wi-Fi which means that it can connect to your home network or public Wi-Fi hotspots such as those available in many coffee shops, cafes or hotels. The Lumia 520 has an FM radio and an MP3 player. It is able to integrate with social media via the built in People Hub, which aims to bring together Facebook and Twitter, and it comes with Excel, PowerPoint and Word installed, which is ideal for making last minute adjustments before those important meetings. City Lens superimposes points of interest over the image the phone receives from its camera, Nokia Drive is a voice guided sat-nav that can also download maps for offline use and Nokia Transit gives you detailed bus, train and tube information in many of the UK's major cities. Other apps, such as YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp and Spotify are available to download from the Windows Phone Store.

Nokia's Lumia 520 is excellent value and well put together. It offers a competitive alternative to the entry level Android devices and aims to broaden the Windows 8 Phone experience to the widest possible audience.
