Why this smartphone is built for you

The Alcatel 1030

The 1030 is a clamshell phone from French manufactures Alcatel. It is designed to make calls and send texts. It is easy to use, has nice big buttons and is economically priced.

This phone has a 1.8 inch screen that displays in 114PPI (Pixels Per Inch). The average PPI for a modern smartphone is 255.

This phone does not have a camera.

Based upon its processor speed and memory, this phone receives an unmudlr performance rating of 1 out of 100.

Battery Life

The Alcatel 1030 has an estimated battery life of around 6 hours. The average smartphone battery life is around 10 hours. It has a battery capacity of 500mAh (MilliAmp hours). The average battery capacity is 1950mAh. The battery on this phone is removable.

1GB (Gigabyte) is equal to roughly 500 pictures or 250 songs. The Alcatel 1030 has an expandable memory card slot which makes it possible for you to add up to 8GB external storage.

Dual SIM

This phone comes in a dual SIM version (called the Alcatel 1030D) that enables you to pop in two SIM cards at once and choose the one you want to use. This comes in handy if you are planning to use your phone abroad extensively or want to keep your business and personal calls separate.

The Alcatel 1030 comes with an FM radio, a basic MP3 player and the battery will last for up to 10 days between charges (or 7 hours of continuous use). The advantage of the clamshell design is twofold.

1. It makes it more difficult to 'pocket dial' one of your contacts.

2. Closing the lid will automatically end your current phone call.

Both of these features could help prevent you from wasting your valuable credit unnecessarily.

Alcatel's 10.30 is a solidly built, basic flip phone and, at around £15, would make a very good 'second' phone for festivals, holidays or younger family members.
