The Alba Mobile (1.8) is a basic feature phone. This type of phone is a popular choice as a 'festival phone' due to its low cost and extensive battery life. It may also be useful as an emergency phone to leave in the car.
Alba was registered as a trademark in 1918 by A.J. Balcombe Ltd. It started out life as a radio manufacturer and has subsequently expanded into other consumer electronics. Alba group bought the Bush brand in 1988, followed by Goodmans in 1994. In 2008, the Alba and Bush names were purchased by Home Retail Group, the parent company of Homebase and Argos. In September 2016, Sainsbury's bought the Home Retail Group, bringing the Argos, Alba and Bush brands, under its ownership.
