The HTC Butterfly S

The HTC Butterfly S is a top end smartphone that runs on a version of Android Jelly Bean that has been augmented with HTC's Sense UI. It is an updated version of the HTC Butterfly. It is a powerful, high performance device that is aimed at more technologically demanding users.

This phone has a 5 inch HD touchscreen that displays in 440PPI (Pixels Per Inch). The average PPI for a modern smartphone is 255.

The HTC Butterfly S has a 4UP (UltraPixel) camera. UltraPixel cameras are designed to work better in low light than Megapixel cameras. To the naked eye, a 4 UltraPixel camera will produce images of roughly a similar quality to a 13 MP camera. The Butterfly S can also record video in up to 1080p and has a 2.1MP front facing camera for taking selfies and making video calls.

Performance is provided by a 1.9GHz quad core processor and 2GB RAM. Based upon its processor speed and memory, this phone receives an unmudlr performance rating of 80 out of 100.

1GB (Gigabyte) is equal to roughly 500 pictures or 250 songs. The Butterfly S comes with 16GB internal storage and an expandable memory card slot which makes it possible for you to add a further 64GB external storage. It also comes with Google Drive installed which gives you an additional 15GB of free cloud storage.

The Butterfly S comes 4G ready so can take advantage of high speed mobile Internet in locations where it is available. It has Bluetooth which enables it to communicate with other Bluetooth devices (such as a Bluetooth handsfree kit). It has Wi-Fi which means that it can connect to your home network or public Wi-Fi hotspots such as those available in many coffee shops, cafes or hotels. The Butterfly S is able to connect to HDMI enabled TV's or projectors (this requires a separate microUSB to HDMI adapter) and it has NFC compatibility which enables you to make contactless payments and share files with your friends. This phone also has an infrared blaster which gives it the ability to control most TV's or home cinema systems.

This phone comes with HTC's BoomSound, Blinkfeed, SenseTV and Zoe apps installed. It also has Google Maps, Gmail, Chrome, Google+ and YouTube. Other apps, such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat and Spotify are available to download from the Google Play Store, along with the latest music, films, TV shows and games.

The HTC Butterfly is an excellent, high performance smartphone. Although it is arguably not as stylish as the HTC one, it makes up for this with an excellent battery life and a good quality display.
